How Many Years Have You Been Teaching? |
This is my first year! |
Who or What Inspired You to Become a Teacher? |
My Visual Art teacher at Howard Payne University. She really encouraged me to try new things and to develop my own ‘style’. She was encouraging and caring, she just wanted to inspire art anywhere and everywhere she was. |
My Best Day in the Classroom Was When: |
Artist Tanner Lawley came to speak to my upper-level art students. For days afterward I could hear and feel my students open up to ask questions about creative career fields. I could see them really consider their future and how they could be successful working in an artistic field. |
What’s Your One Must-Have Item For Your Classroom? |
I don’t really have a must-have for me as a teacher, but my students always take an interest in my hour glasses. They will come in and flip them over before every class J |
If You Could Have One Teacher Superpower, What Would It Be? |
I’m not sure it’s considered a superpower, but I would enjoy some extra arms and legs to either grade papers faster, or to catch paint and other materials from being spilled all over my floor. |
What Was the Last Non-Academic Book You’ve Read? |
Recently I re-read The Lucky One by Nicholas Sparks. |
What Do You Enjoy Doing in Your Spare Time? Do You Have Any Hobbies? |
I really enjoy photography and also planning and booking vacations/cruises. I have had my Travel Agent cert. for a little over a year and a half and I just love it! |
What Profession Other Than Your Own Would You Most Like to Attempt? |
Before becoming a teacher I worked as a Graphic Designer for a Law Firm. I enjoyed that, or I would book travel full-time. |
