Q: How many people can the community center accommodate?

A: The community center can safely hold a maximum of 286 people.

Q: How early can I get in to decorate for my event?

A: The doors to the community center will be unlocked at the start of your rental time. Please be sure to carefully consider the amount of time that you will need in order to decorate, prepare and clean-up after your event. Rental fee will start when the custodian opens the doors, and will end when the custodian finishes cleaning up the Community Room. Individuals and /or organizations are responsible for cleaning the kitchen.

Q: Do I need to bring in my own tables and chairs for my event?

A: There are standard sized rectangular and round tables with chairs available for you to use in the community center. However, if your event requires specialty tables or additional seating, please make necessary arrangements.

Q: How many tables are available?

A: There are approximately 10 standard sized rectangular tables and 19 round tables in the community center. Chairs and tables can not be moved out of the community center. Please be careful moving chairs and tables so that walls and carpet will not be marked and damaged.

Q: How many chairs are available?
Each round table will hold up to 8 chairs. Rectangular tables can be arranged to accomodate up to 6 people comfortably. The community center has over 100+ chairs available for seating.

Q: Will I be able to access the community center kitchen?

A: The use of the kitchen is available and intended for warming food and not complete meal preparation. An ice machine is provided for your convenience. The kitchen area should be left in a clean and orderly condition, with all food removed after the event. Utensils in the kitchen are property of CISD, and can not be removed.

Q: Do district employees have to pay to rent the community center for private parties?

A: CISD residents, including CISD employees, are responsible for paying rental fees when hosting private events at the community center.

Q: Can I hire a DJ or band to play inside the community center at my event?

A: Yes, DJ's and bands are permitted to play at private events. You will need to make sure that you provide all necessary equipment, including extension cords. The DJ's set-up time will start upon your rental agreement.

Q: Where do I go to complete a rental agreement?

A: You will need to go to the Community Center Public Information Community Education office. The office is located in the same building as the Middle School Library at:

Q: Can I rent the community center on a holiday?

A: The community center is not available for rental during the holidays, including CISD's scheduled holidays and during inclement weather.

Q: Can I use a smoke machine at my event?

A: We do not permit the usage of fog or smoke machines in the community center for the safety of visitors and guests.

Q: Can we rent the CISD linens for community center tables?

A: No, we do not rent out CISD linens for private events. It is the renter or renting organization's responsibility to provide their own party decor.
